Keator Grove has experienced many reincarnations, however, the project currently being completed is based upon the site plan and building design developed by Graceland Partners. Building Solutions was the Managing Partner of this effort. The project was sold back to the the original non-profit partner of Graceland, thereby permitting the non-profit to benefit from dedicated funding from the local municipalities for affordable housing. Additionally a major local employer working with Graceland was able to facilitate the financing by committing to purchase up to 80% of the units. The project is an exciting example of designing around common open space in order to promote community connections. Additionally the basic building methodology uses prefabricated modules which are constructed in lower wage areas of the country, thereby not exacerbating the housing problems in the valley caused in part by construction.
